Things I remember about the snowstorn of New england when i was little...
I look out my window
At the raging storm.
Blurred images, howling wind.
I am drawn to it.

Nostalgia overcomes me.
And I can remember being younger.
Snow storms came and went
Such an affinity I had
Running outside, sled in tow,
Before even an inch fell.

I am back at my window,
Snow drifts lock me inside.
Until this storm ends
I’ll remain indoors.

I go back to my childhood.
Me and Travis outside.
Snow up to our waists
It doesn’t stop us.
We climb and climb.
He’s too little, I help him up the hill.
Sleds in tow, we position.
Holding each others sleds as we rush down,
Screaming.

I come back to my window,
A branch falls.
The snow covers it quickly
I remember
The most vivid memory yet
My most revisited winter memory.

There is a snow bank,
Tall as me.
Pink snow suit and black boots,
begin to climb.
The snow is soft and I sink.
I’m buried up to my waist
It’s cold but I sit there.
Waiting for someone to notice I’m not there,
It seems an eternity before I’m discovered.

Back at my window
I’m haunted by a thought.
If I go and bury myself in the snow,
Will anybody notice I’m gone?
