This came from dream I had about my husband Who passed away in 1999.
You came to me in my dreams,
Sometime throughout the night,
The covers lifted and you laid by my side.
Savoring the feeling of having you with me tonight.

I engulfed you in my arms,
Kissed your lips and held you tight,
Trying to to make these moments last forever,
As you will go with with dawn's morning light.

Needing to ask the questions,
That still linger in my mind,
I look deeply into your eyes,
And speak the words I must have rehearsed a million times.

"Do you know how much I love and miss you?"
You answer with a "Yes"
I pull you closer and lay my head upon your shoulder,
Inhaling your scent in my next deep breath.

I ask the final question,
The one that's weighed heaviest upon my chest,
"Did I do the right thing by letting you go?"
"Yes Honey, you did."

"Now close your eyes,
Take one last breath,
Let your body relax,
Join me and eternally rest."
