A musing on the movements of time
Sands of Time

Will I be always able
To constantly meet
The challenges incessantly
Coming to my feet?

I have to ask this
Every single day
‘Cause my world
Is changing every day.

People I went to school with
Are now being called mom and dad -
While children are good,
I do feel sort of sad.

Do they have dreams
From the highest rung,
Now cast into a status
As the permanently unsung?

Change is constant
And constant is change,
But sometimes the results
Are quite strange …

The Sands of Time
Must take their course,
So they have taken people
With much human remorse …

Many people I respected
For the advise they give,
But time has taken them –
They no longer live.

Sooner or later
I’ll be considered an elder one
And young one’s like my current self
Will seek out my opinion.

And then I’ll pass through
The Sands of Time,
But it will be alright,
It will be fine –
For the knowledge I’ve learned
Will have been passed,
And that is the only hope
For it to truly last.

All is changing,
Yet all will be in line,
You just have to put Faith
In the Sands of Time.
