Written one morning when feeling especially sad about the distance between my love and me.
Words,
shattered
bottles that
lie gathering
dust in the cellar.
Your touch is what I need,
in the darkness here among
spilled dreams and sharp-edged pieces of
the fragile vessels that once held them.
Warm blood drips in the darkness as I clear
away shards so you will only feel
the floor's cool smoothness as you come
to me there and put your arms
around me. I forgot
that light comes with you
and you need no
help from one
who can't
see...
