Tragic story of a newborn being rejected.
I lay with my eyes wide open,
waiting for the ones
who would take me home.

There they were
approaching so slowly
so hesitant and apprehensive.

Her gaze saw my lively eyes,
but returned no life back to me.

I kept reaching for her.
She kept stepping back.

I kept crying for her.
She started crying
- for herself.

There was no patting,
no hugging,
no kisses,
no affection.

A loathsome disease,
I became in her eyes.
So sick it made him
He did not even look.

There they were no more
As light faded from my eyes,
As hope fled before my eyes,
As I lost the home
I had been yearning for.
