Sometimes you have to say good bye, but your heart knows love never ends - not when the memory lingers on
Lavender Days

Soon it will be over
Ended
There will be no more Lavender Days
Or champagne nights
for us to share
All the deeds have been done,
All the words used in Love
Have been spoken
Except that final, fatal one

How do you say goodbye
To something as beautiful
And right
As the love we shared?
I suppose there will be tears
As tears are inevitable as
Rain.

Even in the beginning we knew
it wouldn't be a forever kind of Love
So we took what we could,
You and I
Savoring each hour, stolen from the day.

For two years we merged
Filling the Lavender days
With the sounds of
Love and Laughter
And yes, there were tears we shared
And sorrow now and then.

But, always there was Love
in the night,
at noon
Or even at four one morning
When you came tapping at my window
Just as the sun burst over the rim of our World,
Painting the sleepy sky with streaks of
Brilliant red...

Soon, it will be over,
Ended
Except for a memory or two
I tucked selfishly away
For a rainy Sunday, or perhaps
A golden August day

I wonder …..
What will be your memory
Of our Love
And those Lavender days
And will you smile
……….Remembering?
