School Daze. The road travelled to popularity.
Irony.

There was a time when I hated the way
The mirror looked back at me
So I blurred the picture till I'd become
everything I could never be

I put up a wall of words and hid behind
Laughter was my smokescreen
Staying hidden behind my everyman
Never really being seen

Where I drew back, he was confident
Didn't care what people thought
Never without a friend, they didn't know
That all their love was bought

I gave them what they wanted,
And took from them in turn
Everyone was looking for something different
I created new people as I learned

As time went on I realised that
The everyman had won
And behind a practised smile I wondered
If the original was gone

I worked so hard at making someone for everyone
Thinking their love would set me free
Now I'm standing in a hall of mirrors
Wondering which reflection is me
