The search for who you truly are can be a daunting task.
I looked in the mirror
to see if I could see
Just exactly why it is
         that you like me
I saw all the outer stuff
         pretty face and crazy hair
But the more I looked
         the less I saw there
I saw so many masks
         that I no longer knew
Which one it was that
         first attracted you
I wear my protective garb
         to save me
In case someone doesn't
         like what they see
Slip on this one
         he likes me now
For the next person
         I switch again, see how?
If I should show you
         who I really am,
Would you still be my friend?
