Poem about taking things slowly in a relationship, but still wanting it all.
I look in your eyes
and I'm lost again
lost in that moment of time
examining all the fine lines
every inch of the space we fill
I wanna see what's real
if it's my imagination
that's making this wrong
But it's not
cause you're my girl
and you've got my heart
I don't want it back
Please keep it
Just don't break it
and we're taking this slow
aren't we?

I watch you breathe in your sleep
and it's a wonderful thing
how your arms wrap around my body
and I feel my heart weaken
because I want to touch you
more and more as you move
closer to my body, our skin touching
and I want to kiss you
when you nuzzle my neck
I want so many things
but we're taking this slow
aren't we?

I let you stay this way
until the morning sun shines
and you realize how close
you really are
you blush and apologize
and I have no problem
telling you it's ok
because it really is
having you so close
and I finally get
that kiss
and I can taste you
so sweet
your lips
your tongue
every inch
I can't help but want you
and I do
more than anything else
but we're taking this slow
aren't we?

And I'm afraid to say
I love you
Cause I'm scared
you won't say it back
but I'm almost
willing to take
that chance
cause I do love you
with all my heart
but we're taking this slow
aren't we?
