A poem about fighting with the one you love, and what it can do to you in the end
Please don’t touch me
You’ve hurt me enough already
I’ve been torn apart by you
Too much to feel even one more drop of momentary bliss
That’s ripped away by anguish

No, please don’t lay a hand
You’ve sucked me in already
I’ve been blind to what is there
Too enthralled by your passing beauty to see
The horrible feelings you’ll later give me

Please just stay away
You’ve made me afraid of what I’ll do
I’ll forget how you made me feel
Too captivated by your fleeting love to identify
All of your many affectionate lies

Please do not come closer
You’ll make me love you again
I’ll fall apart at the sight of you
Too mesmerized by the loving things you say
To remember why I was mad at you yesterday

Now please take one step towards me
You’re what I want, I’m sure
I’ve been too angry without reason
Too obsessed with fabricated rage
To understand love at our age

No, please don’t ever leave me
You’ve rapt me once again
I know love causes fights at times
Too quickly they pass for us to see
The damage they do to you and me

So please stay close by me
You're taking me in again
I know your love is eternal
Too deep to let a fight jeopardize
The honesty I see in your eyes

Please stay by me forever
You love me enough already
I'm just fearful of reacting
Too influenced by your passion not to see
That I despise what love does to me

You are filled with nothing but love
And I am killed by every inch of it
