A poem about divorce and a husband giving up on ever reconciling.
I would that you bid farewell. Those tears are yours to fake.
No masquerade any longer or silence for love’s sake.
Take our home, it’s yours to plunder, your trophy for battles won, and
a token of my gratitude for a new life begun.
Rend our picture, take the frame, and fill it up anew,
with love of another name and colors of another hue.
Sweep the fragments before I go, of vows’ shattered remains,
And fling them to the winds on high, like wedding rice grains.
One last request before I go and start my life anew,
Release my name and my heart and I will bid you adieu!
