The effects of a loss of trust....

Oh, silence,
That fills all spaces,
Presses my head as if crushed by praying hands
That now cannot join together.
That sparkling stream of
Fresh voices and opening eyes
Runs underground, now,
Furtive in the darkness,
Trying to find
A new source of light
And voice.

You lied.
With your imagination you made it true,
And my heart ran,
paused to admire you,
The music of light
Ran to my tongue,
And all that I am,
Sought you,
Would have given everything.
But you lied.

Back in the safe darkness
Of silence,
The air is clear,
But the end is not.
No matter, this stream will run
And seek, or,
Against the law of gravity,
Wait.
In the silence my heart chimes
The hours,
And listens,
Listens.
