A poem inspired by the contruction that was going on about a year ago.
With an anguished cry
He lies mangled and dented
On his side among the many
After being hit

The one lane construction
And the surviving yellow lights
The fear is as constant
As the oncoming lights

It happens when they drive too fast
A friend down but no one cares
If the car is fine, they're gone
And do not ask how my friend fares

But being an orange cone on the street
I do not have thoughts or feelings
But I do as you have read
For this poem was inspired by me
