Feeding time in our marine fish tank is always an event.
A frienzied rush around the tank.
A flash of blue, the wrasse rushes past
In chase of a shrimp or a piece of green.
Feeding time is always good fun.

The lionfish hangs in the flow,
Waiting for it's prey to drift past
Before darting forward, mouth wide open
Taking the unfortunate in it's maw.

The angels, damsels, clown and tangs
Follow the flakes around the tank,
Cheating each other out of the greatest prizes
Before darting back to their hiding places.

The eels are great, with their snake-like wiggles.
Unable to find their next meals
They dart to the top, searching, mouth wide open
'Til the food is caught, by luck, and they disappear again.

Now the food is almost gone,
The tank returns to tranquility once more.
The fish return to their protective lairs
Waiting for feeding time to come around again.
