this just popped into my head one night. i just started writing and it came out like this.
You tucked me in at night
You kissed me on the forehead, said “everything’s going to be alright”
You said you’d love me seven times a day
Don’t worry momma, your little boy will be ok

You held me when I cried, smiled when I laughed
You said you’d love me whether I failed or passed
And when you heard she broke my heart you didn’t know what to say
Don’t worry momma your little boy is gonna be ok

From the day I was injured to the second I was healed
We got a glimpse into your heart as the true mother revealed
And when I said I wanted to move out, you wanted me to stay
But don’t worry momma your little boy will be ok

Through everything in my life you’ve been there to look upon
You’ve taken all my weakness and turned them into strong
And when trouble trespasses your heart will be my guide
And when everything is said and done you will always be by my side
And as I grew you showed me the black, white and the gray
So don’t worry momma your little boy is going to be ok.
