Assonance poem
By the fire sung a choir
Crying, whining like a siren
Christmas night– what a sight!
Shining lights bring bright delight.
The styles high and dry
Climb into my eye
I’ll spend a dime to buy some pie
and give it to the friar
as he reads the Bible to the choir.
It’s a fine time to dine
while Thy mighty eye
decries my crimes
reminds me, smites me, chides me, fights me,
and sets me right on Christmas night.
