It's about survival, life vs. death.
I watch the butterfly,
Curling herself in and out,
With deep blue wings,
So beautiful, a shame she never sings.

The night breaks open
Our sun's cocoon of mortality,
And we are bathed in her dark,
Silky-smoothe skin of sedation.

And she withers,
To a cool, absent, mocking face,
A river of tears drowned the angel,
My butterfly's grace.

The cocoon once again settles,
Around her dreaming eyes,
Never again does she twirl,
Round the magic of paradise.

Colors twitch in the wind,
Colors of the calm blue sea,
And I again ponder why,
Why wasn't that me?
