To jump or not to jump...that is the question. Yet, all is not as it seems.
A Difficult Choice

Looking over the edge, how far could it be?

It's not like the fall could ever kill me

If I land on my head, then all will be done

but, land on my feet, and the fall will be fun

I've been here before, but never like this

This time it's changed, with one small twist

Before I was lower, much closer to home

But now I am higher, perched up here alone

So I simply think, up high in this tree

Just sitting here writing away with glee

I just sit on this branch, pondering my fall

Should I jump from this branch? Or not fall at all?

Alas, the moment of truth has arrived

Do I set my foot down? Or soar through the sky?

I look to my left, I look to my right

I calculate again the height of my flight

As I continue to think, the winds start to sway

the tree that I'm in, so I fear I can't stay

With one final look I decide what I'll do

I slowly reach out, and put down my shoe

on a branch that's much lower, in vertical height

Then I jump to the ground with all of my might

I land with a thud then look up and stare

I cannot believe I ever got up there!
