poem on brother's death
With one step you left me dry and cracked,
Like old leather, weather beaten by the sun.
You chose to take a walk backwards,
When your journey hadn’t even begun.

Some days I fight to remember
Other days I strive to forget
I mourn you with every rising sun,
Weeping on through the next sunset.

Why are the good memories so fleeting,
The only pieces I have left
Or Nightmares repeating,
Reality a distorted mess

Please take it back,
Make a deal with death
Tell Grim to re-pack
Give us back our healing breath
