Seven Beatitudes

Blessed are the lovers,
whose lips always close
on a memory.

Blessed is the Bible,
whose pages contain dualism –
red and black never meet.

Blessed are the paint-strippers,
for they are historians
of indecision.

Blessed are the women,
for they deserve a break.

Blessed is the spring,
for even despair
must have a beginning.

Blessed is the Pope,
because he's the Pope.

Blessed are the excommunicated,
for they have nowhere to go
but up.
