falling out of love
Down, down
Spinning crazy
I feel like I’ve lost control
Lost the battle,
Lost the fight.
He likes me,
He likes me not.
Tear a petal,
Tear a petal,
Tear at my heart
Until I’m left with nothing
Except confetti.
I was so blind
To the shortening phone calls
With quick good-byes.
But my hindsight is twenty/twenty
So when I rub my eyes
With immature fists
My memories become clear
And I see that all those times he was smiling
It wasn’t because of me.
He tripped me,
Ripping Love, Trust, Compromise, Comfort
Out from under my feet,
Pulling out everything I stood on,
(everything I stood for)
Letting my body collapse on the floor,
My heart melting in a red puddle.
I didn’t know it would hurt this bad.
