When sorrow grips the heart all that's left is pain and the hope of retribution
The sun died in its glory
The day you broke my heart
The moon cried out its fury
And wept for me its part.

I look back on the shadow
That follows me close behind
You said you'd be there to the end
I've learned not to trust your kind.

Humans are all the same, you see,
With an inevitable trait to maim.
You struck my soul with a burning shaft
And exploited your perfect aim.

The moon will weep its tears for me
And with its power steal your empty lies
The sun will rise triumphant
The day your dreaming dies.
