I've called you my friend, with Love sincere...
I've called you my friend,
With Love sincere and even though
You now aren't here, thoughts of you
Fill my heart with cheer.

Yet, sometimes I shed a quiet tear.
"Why", you say, "do I cry?"
When having a friend should
Keep my spirits high and
I shouldn't sit and sadly sigh,
Just because you're not close by.

Well, I've thought a lot
About what a friend should be, and
About what being your friend
Means to me.

As your friend, I understand,
How quickly time runs out of sand; and
Even though our paths have parted,
That does not end what we have started.

I do realize you can't be here,
Even though I want you near.
So I try to quiet my inner fears
Of losing touch with you for years.

My heart cries out!
With strident voice!
Yet, as your friend, I have no choice,
But to let you go your way.

I pray someday we'll meet again and
Perhaps in time, you'll stay.
Until then, my thoughts for you,
Run deep and are filled with Love.

May your Life be full and
The path you walk,
Never be too rough.
This wish I give to you, my friend,
It has to be enough.
