Treats is my parody of Joyce Kilmer's famous 'Trees' poem.
TREATS
July 3, 2005

I think that I shall never dream
a treat so lovely as ice cream.

A treat my hungry mouth has pressed
against my lips and tongue with zest;

A treat that looks, before it melts,
like winter curbs along snow belts;

A treat that has in summer known
two scoops or three upon a cone;

A treat whose bosom sauce has lain;
and comes in flavors rare to plain.

It may not make one slim or lean,
but only fools don't like ice cream.
