For a friend
An Ode to Richard

I’ve got a friend who fixes things, he really does it well.
I get myself tied up in knots, I’m sure that he can tell.
He has a knack for sorting out all the things that I cannot.
But now that I am writing this I owe him thanks a lot.
I’ve known my friend for a while and I’d find it hard to cope,
And if I learn all the things he knows, there surely must be hope.
I really owe him much gratitude for all that he has done,
So when I’m in need of a thing to be fixed, he’s my number one.
So here’s to you my faithful friend you really are the best,
And now I’d better leave it there, for fear of becoming a pest.
