55 word story for a contest
This was a perfect case of ‘love at first sight.’ He waited for the inamorata to detrain, as he mustered up courage to follow her and strike up a conversation when opportunity showed. Finally, she rose, with some trouble, and gripped her crutch that had been hiding in an unseen corner. She alighted. He didn’t.
