Considering the lonliness of our modern isolated society.
Segregated, designed for two,
Space for one.
Each quivering behind crafted walls
Of isolated fear, suspecting every other,
Rapist, mental, dull.
Better on your own.
Duty forces camaraderie, but even lined,
Breathing in human contact, we stay alone;
Shun the outside influence, escape into a rut
Of inside dwellings. Blind to stumbling, ranting,
Ringing, the opportunity for expansions.
Shutting down, our form of defence, stemming from
Where? It takes one to quaver resistance, break the
Barriers of acceptable oblivion.
But the one never is.
Remain are the coffin
Still vacancies, morning and night, individual confines
To safe solitary. Risk of speech archaic, wasted.
