Emotions I had to get out to think rationally.
Sentiments

A young boy sits alone in the corner,
He has seen it all before.
He reaches for the phone,
He can do no more.

The sirens stir in the distance,
Soon the lights flash outside.
He stares at the two officers in a trance,
He watches while they take his mum.

He washes his emotions away,
Gains control again.
He meets his brother and sisters at the bus,
Puts on a smile and banishes his pain.

He prepares dinner,
Packs lunches for the next day
Participates in the evening banter,
Tucks everyone into bed.

Again …

A young boy sits alone in the corner,
He has seen it all before.
He reaches for the light,
He can do no more.

This is dedicated to my fiance. I cannot believe the things he had to witness as a child. His mum is Bipolar and she attempted suicide. He found her. The reason why I have written this now is because on Thursday, she attemped suicide again and he found her all over again. He has been amazing throughout it all, I cannot imagine being him right now and I am so proud of him. Chris, I love you. Hopefully, people will realise this is an illness and there are people out there who have to pick-up the pieces if it remains untreated.
