She looked towards God for peace and forgiveness.
Children of Doom.

They crossed in there thousands to safety
Escaping from Sudan over the border into Chad
Woman were beaten,raped,and murdered
Conditions were rapidly turning bad

Dust particles hurled across in anger
The scorching heat, unbearably beating down
The sky showed no sign of life giving rain
Swarms of people gathered, filling the Compound

Stench of human odor, oozes through the pound
The mauling insistence of bothering flies
Ignoring the pest the children don't understand
Robbing fluids from their mouth, nose and eyes

Diseases swiftly sweeps through the mass
The children are the first victims to fall
With no food, water or medical aid
Life hasn't a chance for ones so small

The shocking thinness of his body
exposes the out lines of his ribcage
He will be hard pushed to survive the night
The illness in his system, over powers the rage

A mother's heart suffers with pain and sorrow
It had been days since her child had eaten
He laid helplessly on a make shift bed of rags
She knows without food she is beaten

His small body swollen with malnutrition
Death would be a release into freedom
His body dehydrated from lack of water
His holiness shutting down almost in welcome

Millions of people will die ahead of their time
Children of the next generation will be no more
The nomads of the desert will become lost, extinct
History tells the killings was destoryed by war

The mother gathers him close for the last time
Her sad eyes full of unshed tears
She knew it was only a matter of time
That death will claim all her fears

She condemed God, for what had her child done
Yet,she knew life had changed as she breathed
Are we dying by the thousands to make way
For a new generation where life will be freed

It's not a matter of the fittest surviving
As each day passes with no future ahead
Soon it will be my turn to die she thought
For my son, my heart was the only one that bled

She looked towards God for peace and forgiveness
She had wrongly accused him, her suffering wounds
Her begging in silence made her realize one thing
She too was one of The Children of Doom.
