A poem I wrote describing the feelings of wanting to give up.
A trench lies under me, deep in the ocean

Threatening to surround me with darkness

I’m sinking

Too far to reach for an obligated hand

They’ve given up

Burgundy entwines black

Tried so hard not to do it again

Sharks glide overhead

They have seen me here before, always taking bites

I’m waiting for them to take it all

The omnipresent pressure continues to push

Becoming too difficult to deal with

There’s nothing

No one

Why should I swim to the surface?

Leave behind the sharks and reaching hands

In the end it’s all the same

Descend into the abyss where suffocation is inevitable

Or stay on the surface lingering impatiently for it to

End
