Jesus is coming and this is what he might say from someone's front porch.

Spare Me

Spare me some time
just pull up a chair.
I'll help you unwind,
no worse for the wear.

Spare me your grimace,
your grumpiness too.
Don't try to interrupt
or think me the fool.

There's wisdom and truth
in these words I say.
Carry them with you,
they'll show you the way.

Put a smile on your face
when all seems unfair.
Speak well of your neighbor,
treat them with care.

Keep love in your heart
when there's little found.
Share it with someone,
please spread it around.

Believe in me as
I give sight to the blind.
If you'll pull up a chair
and spare me the time.
