I am a writer disguised as a working class stiff. Though I studied journalism at Fordham University, life and a mortgage got in the way. I grew up in the suburbs striking a balance between the excitement of the city and the blandness of suburbia. As an adult, I preferred a union job that was stable to risking rejection in my field of study. By the time I got my Masters from NYU, I was already pregnant with my first child and since then had another. My boys give me so much fulfillment that I am quite happy. However, I never want them to think I settled in life. This is why I continue to write and aspire to better things.
