A balanced puzzle, using names and locations from the cult BBC sci-fi show, Blakes 7. |

Blakes 7 (note the missing apostrophe) was cult a BBC show that did much to fire the imagination of many british sci-fi writers including Stephen Baxter and Iain Banks. Unlike the nice neat world of Star Trek where Security Guard 1 would get killed, but the main characters would rally round and save each other so that the end of every episode was the same point as the beginning, Blakes 7 was a gritier universe with a story arc and main characters could die. Rumours of a revival abound with hints of a mini-series and animated series heading for production soon. Fingers crossed. If you're a Blakes 7 fan, see if you can remember the relevence of the characters, locations and crew listed here. If you're not a Blakes 7 fan, you should be - shame on you!  I was careful in the selection of the words for this puzzle, not only to make them relevent to the subject, but also to enable the java applet to create a decent grid. In testing, I have always had 4-13 letters used in 2 or more words so there is plenty of scope for crossed directions and overlapping words. In my view, this makes the puzzle more interesting and the lack of flexibility for grids is a common complaint I have with some of the other wordsearch puzzle lists. Enjoy.
