Sublimation of unrequited love.
FROZEN FLAME: a sonnet

How long shall I wait that my love may come
One day from somewhere unknown, unannounced?
My heart has over time too old become.
All feelings of love from it have been trounced.

The flame of love cannot be rekindled,
It, too, resides in but a mortal frame.
In course of time it too does get dwindled,
Remaining though a flame only in name.

A frozen flame cannot be ignited,
Nor can the frozen heart resound a beat.
By darkness dark can never be lighted,
To youth, old age must one day give its seat.

Shall I repent that love could not be mine?
No Lord, I have your love. I know you’re mine.
