poem for my word contest 2/17/20
I see them
eyes locked on each other
faithfulness personified
love of the kind rarely seen
for most they remain unseen

I hear them
coos meant only for the other
truth without pretense
honesty of the kind rarely heard
for most they remain unheard

the flutter of their feathers
the gentle nuzzling of their necks
why can't we be so true
why would we not see them as beautiful?
