Okay, how many people think of little old ladies listening to Laurence Welk and slow dancing with their arms around their partner. That's who little old ladies were when I was young.

I just came into the realization that little old ladies would be more likely to blare Metallica. Dancing would include mosh pits and break-your-hip dancing.

I imagine some old dude slowly lowering himself to the floor to do the worm. First struggling to lower himself to one knee then contorting to get the other one down. Then he'd have to ask the orderly to lower him the rest of the way. The only thing funnier to me than imagining him doing the worm is imagining him attempting to get back up. I predict that requires three orderlies, two nurses and a gait belt.

Just wait some day soon will come the sound of Backstreet Boys echoing through retirement communities.

My mum is "a little old lady", pushing 80... and Cliff Richard, Elton John, Bette Midler, Abba and early Beatles are her music of choice. If she goes into an old folks' home, it will sound like a mid-1960s British movie soundtrack.
Every time I hear "Dancing Queen" I want to dance. *Smile*

Twirl? Not if I don't want to fall out.
My mum is 79, she likes Patti Smith, Jimmy Barnes and The Dudes, but is more interested in watching The Chase these days.

I am having a crappy day. I feel like maybe I should just close my account instead of renewing next month. With the way money keeps getting tighter what business do I have wasting mine or anybody else's money on a membership. How much do I even contribute to anything. I'm not a good writer and don't think I should waste anymore of anybody's time...

Whoa there, my dude.

Let's hold off on deleting anything (writing included) for a bit.

I've been there. I've trashed my port and deleted a ton of stuff that I regretted.

Remember, it's a bad day. Those happen. But I know you've had a lot of good days, too.

You're a valued member of the community, and that is never a waste of "other people's money."

Money's tight, and I get how that can make this worse. The fundraiser is a good idea. There's a whole month left. There's also other options available if needed.

Stick around and let it ride for a while.

Besides, I'm selfish. You tolerate my swearing and I need to keep my posse intact. *Wink* *Heart*

Worrying about how good of a writer you are puts you in the top tier of writers. Even Stephen King is never fully happy with his stories.

If a Premium Membership is too much, go with an Upgraded Membership. That's what I have. It's plenty of Portfolio space, gives me books and images and groups. And it's less than half the price of a Premium Membership.

Poke around your Portfolio and see what (if anything) you would have to get rid of if you downgraded.

I had a Premium Membership a year ago and the only difference it made to me was that I could post images directly to the Newsfeed. It might be that downgrading would make you have to get rid of a couple of specific items, but they can usually be saved in some form.

I think the site is better with you in it. And as Beacon said, just take a break.
