ghosts of childhood memories
in the vague recesses of my memory
there still lives a wildling girl
caked in mud from toe to chin
running untamed through field and fen
grass and leaves within tangled braids
carefree as the blowing wind
she still stops by to play sometimes
but she's slowly slipping away
