A cloudburst is scary; I've been in a few myself. I decided to write about it.
To confound the cognizance of a cloudburst is to confuse in one's mind the knowledge or awareness of a sudden violent rainstorm. A person who hasn't come into contact with one confounded (bewildered, confused, perplexed) mind. Not knowing what to do, I know that other's would've been wondering the same thing. I've been in these kinds of rainstorms where there wasn't any visibility; I couldn't see through the windshield. During this kind of a situation, while I was a passenger in a vehicle, the driver, luckily, remained calm. Thinking that we were doomed, I became panicky. Praising the way my boyfriend had handled the situation, his father took us out for dinner. I went on an outing with a rehabilitation center group, when the driver of the van ran into a cloud-burst. When this happened, I was sitting in the front seat. This startled me. The driver asked me if I was okay. I replied, "Yes, I'm okay", even though I was frightened somewhat.

Confound - 2. confuse (in one's mind).
Cognizance (n.) - knowledge or awareness; perception; sphere of one's observation or concern.
Cloud-burst (n.) - sudden violent rainstorm.

The Oxford American Desk Dictionary and Thesaurus - Second Edition.

When I arrived in Tucson, Arizona, I encountered a cloud-burst for the first time. It created a flash flood that flooded the streets in less than five minutes. I was confound at how fast the street was flooded. It was a sunny day, then the weather changed into a sudden violent downpour of rain. I called this a monstrous outburst.

When there's a cloud-burst, like Hurricane Katrina, scary things begin to happen. People aren't able to get back into their homes; they become stranded. Animals need to be rescued. Because their homes have been destroyed, some animals have drowned, while others have become homeless.

My heart goes out to those who have lost their animals. It makes me happy when animals are returned to their rightful owners. Turning into a happy reunion, a reunion that sparks a friendship that that nobody is able to break, is to see joy on the faces of the animals and their owners.

An everlasting renewal of confidence will provide a neverending glow, like the radiance of love.

Speaking in a language that's universal to all, everyone understands that it's humane to treat others as equals. Whether someone suffers from a mental illness, or any illness at all, we should be respected and treated the same.

When a cloud-burst happens in our lives, to distinguish who we are, and what we are capable of, in a situation such as this, is like a commonality factor of familiarity. When we're able to survive an ordeal, we are grateful to be alive. There's a reason that we're all still here. From the horrors that the monstrous cloud-burst brings, we know that we've been protected. When hope is lost, by hanging in there, sharing our stories can help others cope. This is courageous and brave. Knowing that a hedge of protection was put around us, from the depths of frightened activity, pulling one another up can feel good; a security measure that tells us that we are cared for and loved.

To confound the cognizance of a cloud-burst, we can take a dire situation and turn it into a remedial situation of utmost importance. When your divine complex of comprehension is overwhelmed by turmoil, it raises you up. Transcending your mind into a beautiful story, is worth every effort that it takes to share it with your peers.
