You have to have each piece in place.
You know you can’t just wing it.
You have to plan it out.
You have to have each piece in place
so there can be no doubt.

I worked on this all morning
and way into the night.
I won’t be satisfied until
I have it down just right.

And now I think I’m ready
to put it to the test.
But first I’ll have to catch my breath
and take a little rest.

‘Cause I know not to rush this;
I have to take my time.
For if I botch things right away
well, that would be a crime.

But now I can’t keep stalling.
It’s time to work the plan.
Get off my duff and get it done.
Step up and be a man.

Well, that didn’t work out, did it?
Things quickly fell apart.
I never dreamed my plan would get
off to a rocky start.

Well, sometimes these things happen.
I’m sure you will agree.
And that is why when things go wrong
we always have Plan B.

Well, hold on just one minute.
What did you just tell me?
If Plan A doesn’t do the job,
I need to use Plan B?

I never stopped to make one.
I just don’t think that way.
I gambled all my marbles and
relied on my Plan A.

So what am I to do next?
I'm really at a loss.
I guess I’ll have to wing it now
and keep my fingers crossed.

Or you could simply go back
and come up with Plan B.
And based on how your first plan worked,
you’ll also need Plan C.

And maybe a Plan D.
