** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only **

My goal is to be fitter, stronger and healthier in body, habits and lifestyle. Ideally, I would like to get back down to 62kgs, my ideal weight, by the end of 2016. Other accomplishments I'd like to reach are:

To be able to do
*Bullet* 70 push-ups,
*Bullet* 12 chin-ups,
*Bullet* and run 5kms.

If you believe in me, I would love it if you sponsored me at "Give It 100! *Smile*

I've decided to give this a hash again for 2016. Wish me luck (and sponsor me some GPs? *Bigsmile*):

Project:
I am exercising every day for 100 days and keeping a food diary. I started both projects on the 7th of January. My deadline is 16th April. I'm actually scared of this goal because I'm not sure if I can make it. I would really appreciate any GP sponsorship through "Give It 100!, but it's your choice.

Feeling like giving up? Here’s something for you…

To some, the urge to give up is not a curse but a blessing.

You see, when you have come face to face with that urge and overcome it, you realise how powerful you are.

It’s up to you to create and develop determination in yourself, to foster motivation. There’s only so much that inspiration can do. It’s up to you to do the rest.

*Bullet* The first thing you need to do when you feel like giving up is to ask yourself why you are doing this. What do you want to accomplish? Where do you want to be when you have finished? Who do you want to be?

I started this project of exercising every day because at the end of 100 days, I wanted to be fitter, stronger and healthier, and just to feel better about myself and my body. On the days when I felt down I would remind myself of that.

*Bullet* Secondly, look at how far you’ve come. To be honest, when I did that it just didn’t seem worth giving up now that I’d come so far. You get to the point where giving up isn’t an option anymore. Naturally, you keep going. You don’t stop. You don’t look back. Because suddenly the desire has become the reality.

Last year my project was writing a poem every day for 100 days. I was going great until about day 30, and then the inspiration just fell apart. I struggled, because it's not easy writing poetry without any inspiration. (Heck, I was so desperate I wrote about the lack of inspiration!) What's more, my computer broke, but I decided to continue with pen and paper anyway. For a time it was hard, but carried on and pulled through, and my poetry is much better for it. And I felt like a new person. Someone who could accomplish something, someone who couldn't be stopped. To me, that is what is the most important: discovering my potential.

As for this project, it wasn't easy either. I skipped a few days and teased the idea of giving up, but now I'm so glad I didn't. Because I know what I'm made of. People are starting to comment on my appearance. I can lift heavier things, I'm breaking my personal records every week, doing things I didn't think I could do. I feel healthy, strong, vibrant. Alive. To me, that is what Give It 100 is about. Give It 100%.

*Bullet* Thirdly, remind yourself that you can do this. And I’m not just talking motivational. The fact that you set your goal and started it shows that you have time, money, ability — whatever it takes to complete your goal. (And that's a privilege, something you should appreciate. I remember telling myself, "You're not in a wheelchair. Get off you bum and go for a run"!)

Life is an unending series of incredible opportunities and possibilities. It's up to you to take them.

*Bullet* Finally, if there's one piece of advice I can give you, it's this:

The times when you feel like giving up are the most important to keep going.

Because if you give up or if you don’t give up, either way you prove to yourself what you’re made of. You are a decision. Your habits, your lifestyle, your interests. You make yourself.

So to those who have visited the edge, who have faced that urge to give up and overcome it, I salute you. And to those who are standing on the brink of it, I wish you the best of luck. Just remember this: you’re closer than you think.
