This current Blog ( November 1st 2023-?) is being created in Mississippi. It's a journal of my journey . My way of bringing light 🕯️ to dispel the darkness in our world. Everyday 🎵 should be Earth day 🌻. If not now when? Trying to navigate the craziness of our world and raising our 2 rescue kitties 😻! Fine-tuning my skills as a writer! I fight depression almost every day and deal with chronic pain issues. Using my faith, humor and humility. I bring experience from decades of learning spiritual guidance, using teachings from faith systems I've used to cope and learn to move forward. | A lot going on today folks! Very challenging to my mental health! Just trying to get a therapist/ counselor can make you crazy! I was all set up after an hour phone call to have a video visit for this weekend. Then it turns out she doesn't see people over 64! So then we find another and it seems good then I find out my insurance only pays for 80% of visit so had to cancel. The local place not taking people till end of January. So I give up for now! I did return to the Spondylitis site and at least was understood. Other folks posted to me and somehow it helps to know I'm not alone in this struggle. I did a review for Google local Guide on Tractor supply company and they wrote back appreciating us. They were awesome to get the crate to the car and when I couldn't get it figured out, they did at the store and quick! Thanks to Bill and Eric! Early day tomorrow laundry 🧺 mat whoo freaking hoo! Good payout clean 🫧 gain smelling clothes and sheets! I've been really down past couple days but hopefully can climb 🪜 out of it 😁. Glad I have good folks in the virtual city 🌆! | Hi y'all 🤠 The time change is whooping my 🐴🫏 ( that's supposed to be a donkey) Anyway I totally spaced out on posting some of my entries at Andre banana bar here at WDC. Too many irons in the fire for me. Not used to posting every day in my blog. There was a time when I did and sometimes more than once a day. For now it's been an interesting challenge in writing and being part of a community! Today was almost going to give up on trying further. Just another rough day in the neighborhood. Trying to look forward to enjoying Ballet 🩰 again. When we move to Roanoke one fine day, there is a Adult Ballet studio there. Until then I will start practicing with my favorite video. | We took Maxy and MoJo out again today! The kitties are slowly getting used to riding in the car 🚗! At the gas ⛽ pump they were quiet when we got out of the car. We took em home and went of course to Walmart for some food items and kitty treats, Cheryl picked turkey 🦃! Got home trying to find a dentist who takes my insurance. And started working on the fundraiser page. If it's successful then God G-d willing we can move next year or it will be at least 3 to raise the funds. Either way we'll keep going. Cheryl will be 70 next month and I'll be 69 on Christmas 🎁. Life goes by so quickly so gotta keep working hard. I've pretty much given up on feeling better health wise 🦉. At least until we move and there's better health care for people like me. I keep telling myself it's not so bad or I'm not that much in pain. I have to lie to myself and try to believe it. At least I'm still breathing and my brain can make sentences!!! Thanks for hanging in there with me and us. It means so much ❤️ every day of my life. |
| If not now when? If we don't stand up for justice ⚖️ then when? My friend and teacher Rifka, saw something in a message I had written her a few days ago. I said I'm almost there, ( was letting her know was almost at my doctor's office.) I had also said I was wondering if I'll ever feel ok again. She used an analogy of me being in a car and driving through life, I'm almost there, to her meant " how I seldom give up even when I'm going through doubts or depression and struggles with my physical reality." Even faith struggles. She said " If not now when? And I saw it in a new way , that perhaps I'm closer to my goals than I thought! Today we took the kitties 😻 out! They are getting used to hanging out with the crate ( yes it's for dogs I was asked! ) It's the only way we can train them to get used to traveling. This morning got them inside ( it has a kitty pillow on the bottom) It was very heavy and Cheryl and I carried it out to the car! I put a towel over the top and Maxy and MoJo of course meowing. We didn't go far less than a mile or so. They did pretty good. As they go out will get more used to it hopefully! Later we watched a very intense documentary I will add links to it after dinner It's called Silver Dollar Rd A true story about a black family struggling to keep their land, that was passed down from their great grandfather. I don't know if it's a requirement or not, but I only do word count if I'm entering a contest. I haven't done that since (no idea when to be honest). I see some other Bloggers included word count, not all. I was tagged in another blog ( hope this posts!) "NaBloPoMo#4"  by kareenga She Kare Enga had an interesting blog and brought up some relevant points, on how the Old timers used to comment on blog posts. Now not so much and I think that sad because people seem to be more shut down. I've seen the changes on my Facebook. Where people used to have more conversations with others. They would send prayers or encouragement. Now your lucky to get an emoji or a like anymore. I hope that changes in time, but who knows. Well this morning we moved around the living room and did our 🍂🍁 Fall deep cleaning. On top of the usual stuff so am pretty damn tired 😴! Thanks to everyone who is reading this and touches base with me no matter the way! I appreciate seeing those tags or whatnots. It keeps me going knowing we are in this and your's together! |
| Hi y'all it's only 6:30 PM but I am slap worn out! It's day 3 of our national blog marathon. Ok so today we bought the Cat Crate ( I've been talking about it in my last Blog Soul journeys, to have a safe sane way to travel to Virginia when the time comes 🙂)! We've been saving up our lottery scratch tickets for awhile and had $33.00. We went to Tractor supply and paid the rest. The guys there Bill and Eric were very nice and Bill carried the box from shelves to our car! When we got home I started to put it together but couldn't get the outside walls up. Now mind you I've been fixing things since I was a kid. Chopped wood worked on car's ( once had to tie a muffler up with cord!) This should have been simpler but even with reading instructions and watching videos (2 seconds of what I needed to see...) My sister called the store and they said bring it in and were laughing! We got there and Eric put it together in 2 minutes hurray! I'm really behind in giving Google local reviews ( about 40) but they are getting one this weekend! Oh also Posh pets who do Maxy and MoJo when their nails need cutting ✂️. I also need to read the list of Blogs here on WDC I've been trying to get to. And every day see more to check out. | Hi y'all 🤠👋 once again here I be! Today's post submitted for your approval! Is based on one of the prompts from Andre The Blog 🐒 Monkey's Famous Banana 🍌 Bar. ( can't find the # for it! The last prompt was Epitaph ( writing our own) which I still have to do! And my Muse channeled an occurrence that happened in the fall 🍂🍁 of 1962. That triggered a Google search 🔎 that explained a few things to me about my mother Florence. I had to write a sentence using each of our spelling words. One was Epitaph. My mom gave me a sentence with it, Let no man write my epitaph I'll write my own. Next day I had to read my sentence aloud and got funny looks from my classmates.Most thought me too weird because girls shouldn't be too smart 🤓. Miss Prisand said it was a very compelling sentence! Today I looked it up and found out "Let no man write my epitaph" was a 1960 film. It had a classic cast but I never knew about it until today. I see my mother put in her own line I'll write my own! On that note even though I'll never have a headstone 🪦 will give it a shot! Here lies Diana Fertig protector and activist for Animals people and the planet. Mother grandmother sister cousin and friend She loved to ✍️ write! Yesterday had no idea where today's post would be heading. One idea 💡 was to expound on the link I shared yesterday! Starhawk's post on " The real ghouls on Halloween" a very truthfully intense piece. In a nutshell she talks about The Ghoul of Dehumanization, The Goblin of Revenge and so on... Thinking of writing a poem based on these characters(as I did in my poem TAROT ONE) did mentioned it to her. And was hoping to open a conversation with others on the topic. As we all cope with the war reality however we view it... Today had a very challenging day with same spine pain got worse. I asked about medical marijuana and got a weird lecture on the subject. He said "media is pushing it as helpful, but it's not. Smoking it is in his words "wild animals don't smoke anything so they know what's good." He also said ( even though he gives pain medication to and allows some patients to eat gummies) that he knows of seniors who also lost their balance and broke their hip etc because of medical marijuana. We have different outlooks but he's the Dr for now... So no permission there. Have to wait 2 weeks to fill new prescription even if mine wasn't working. Life goes on indeed. Will have to share this with others on Spondylitis site and couple others. A lot of folks going through the same thing too looking for hope and ways to cope. I really need to work on my fundraiser to get us to Virginia ASAP! We of course will be saving after the holidays ( we have grandkids to send gifts to and our birthdays are coming up in December. In a nutshell 1 is wanting to try my hand at the National Blogging month challenge and post 30 days in a row for November. Thanks Wordsmitty of the fabulous Blogging Bliss newsletter for enlightening us that didn't know! 2 was because I was inspired by an awesome act of kindness from a stranger last week, who is now my friend on Facebook. My thanks to Rabbi Efrem Reis assistant director of Hebrew Free Burial Association in NYC. A wonderful organization with many big hearts and compassion. So you can read about the why there! It's close to 4 PM here in Mississippi. It's gone from 80! degrees to 39 over night. I have a link to share here from a really insightful writer on Substack. She's a Pagan witch and Jewish! I have nothing against anyone who is trying to bring about peace and awareness in our world. I'm on the same page as many of you know. Prayers, burning incense and other ways of positivity I highly recommend and practice myself. I will get it posted here ASAP! People stand around like zombies trying to make good choices. 4 no go in cart and then a yes. Most of you know what I'm saying! We got hamburger meat, good luck finding a good steak or lamb chops. Even if you pay a ridiculous price, most of the time it's like eating an old shoe tough as leather ugh! Well gotta go for now. Hope you had a blessed day and are coping ok with everything. |
