I know most of you enjoy Proverbs and it is a rich book.Proverbs 13:7 says "Some pretend to be rich yet have nothing; others pretend to be poor, yet have great wealth." Besides the literal sense, in which some pretend to be something they are not, what do you think the teacher means by this proverb? There is of course the literal sense in which some people try to portray themselves as well to do when they are barely making ends meet and others clamor for more money as if they aren't making a fortune already. What I think Solomon is talking about here however relates to what Jesus said about the Pharisees. Jesus said the Pharisees worked very hard to present themselves as experts in the law and the spiritually elite of Hebrew society when in truth they were far from God. This proverb is about spirituality and taking heed that when we think we are saved we are actually far from Jesus.  Today we were crossing the galactic rim into the space beyond the Orion nebula. The imaginary birds I always liked were RoadRunner (speedicus velocitus) and of course tweety. They were always on somebody's lunch menu but never once got eaten.
