Forces of Nature
The sky darkens from bracing blue to charcoal blue
As the air around us seems to electrify.
The sun has hidden itself
And the sky seems to grumble in pain.
Streaks of white light bolt above
Before a crash of thunder shakes the ground below us.
We rush inside and huddle with our noses pressed to the glass
As another flash hits a tree and starts a blaze.
