My Work
Leading journal entry for "Invalid Item"   by A Guest Visitor

"Your work is really important. Even the smallest job has such a definite place it might be likened to a piece in a jigsaw puzzle; the puzzle would not be complete without it."
Francis J. Gable

My work is words,
creating phrases, lines and stanzas;
placing them in rainbow letters on white pages.

I’ve finished the last class I need for my Master’s course. The grades will be out on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. The program is Instructional Technology, what that means is that I am now capable of creating online learning modules. The learning module I created, and which is equivalent to a masters’ theist, is Tahirih, Martyr for the Rights of Women. The instructor gave me some suggestion on changes to make to that module. I’ll make those changes. Then I’m going to keep that part and redo the entire module, perhaps under another name to add things to it that I wanted in the original, but that wasn’t required or requested for the class.

I’m worried or perhaps I should say I’m attempting to worry about the final grades. The last project was a group project and I don’t think it brought my grade down too much. Although I should rephrase that, because I have a tendency to look on the dark side, sometime I look at the negative. From experience nothing is ever as dark as I think it is.

Now I can focus on writing exclusives, instead of having to do home work for a course. I don’t think I’m going on for a doctorate, but you never know. All I want to do now is be published, find a job or create a business that uses my talents and degree, get more money coming in so I can pay off the student loans and all my other bills. I also have to watch my attitude, negativity doesn’t engender success.

This morning, despite one point of fear that I’d fail the class entirely. That I blew it out of the water, I’m in a positive mood. The grades will be out soon and it will be a new month. The Feast of Mulk (Dominion) takes place on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.

Last night I began helping to tutor Ruhi Book 1 Reflections of the Life of the Spirit. There is another Ruhi course on Friday’s starting this week; it is the tutor instruction course. I’ve already taken that course once, but it was an intensive weekend and I think I should take it over, but I’m not sure I’m up to another course right now. I finished Book 6 on Sunday afternoon and I’ll finish Book 4 this coming Saturday morning.

Then there is the open mic poetry reading at the West Las Vegas Arts Center on the third Friday of every month. I haven’t been to a poetry reading in quite a while, so I’m planning on going to it this month. However, I need to write some poems or get together the new poems I’ve written.

My work is worship,
service to the Eternal and to humanity
praising through the written word.

“It is enjoined upon every one of you to engage in some form of occupation, such as crafts, trades and the like. We have graciously exalted your engagement in such work to the rank of worship unto God, the True One. …”
