The Day After Christmas 2013
'Twas the day after Christmas,
And all through the town,
Every shopper was panicking,
Whining, and grinching around.

This morning, I deposited the check my sister gave me for my birthday and then I went to the grocery store. Due to my foresight in downloading coupons to my Smith's/Kroger's Shoppers card I was able to save a bit of money on laundry detergent, fabric sheets, and Ovaltine. I purchased more then that because I needed to get some green vegetables, crackers, whole bean coffee (my New Year's Day treat), peanut butter (I'm addicted to peanut butter sandwiches), eggnog (the real stuff this time and not the holidaynog), pancake mix, and syrup.

As a result of walking around in the grocery store, I'm tired. When I came home I brought the groceries in, put the perishables in the fridge, and put in a load of clothes. I have another load of clothes to wash after these are dried, but I need to rest after walking around in the grocery store pushing a shopping cart. In the new year, I may consider using one of their ridding carts; the only issue with those is that I have to get up to reach stuff on the top shelf. I don't like purchasing things on the middle shelves because their too expensive. The less expensive and non-name brand items are usually on the upper and lower shelves.

Going to the bank and the grocery store, the traffic was heavy, but one I reached my destinations there wasn't that many people ahead of me. At the bank, I was able to get to the ATM immediately (I didn't go inside so I don't know how many customers were in the bank). Then when I went to the grocery store, it was easy to get around because there were so few customers inside. I guess everyone was going to other stores to exchange the gifts they received yesterday, which I find weird because I've never exchanged a gift I received in my life. Nor have I ever regifted a gift; maybe I'm the weird one.

Everyone was exchanging,
Their unwanted gifts,
For something less lovable,
To pay the bills with.
