Wontons- hong you chao shou
Hong you chao shou- or, in English, hand cooked red oil- is spicy wontons. I do it the unconventional way- with black rice vinegar instead of soy sauce, but it's tasty for me!

Also added: chiu chow chili oil (lee kum kee brand) and prickly oil (it's for a numbing effect, and absolutely delicious)

Our dumplings are half homemade- my uncle makes the meat from storebought mince, and other ingredients (I don't know the full list, but ginger, salt, and soy sauce are on it), and the skin is storebought.

To assemble the dumplings, put a spoonful of meat in the middle, and spread some water onto the edges of the skin. fold up a corner of the skin (it should be square-shaped) so it is now a triangle, press down firmly, and then cook in boiling water for 5-10 minutes or until it's cooked.

Finally, when it's all cooked, strain from the water, add condiments, and enjoy. *Bigsmile*
