Essay on WDC review/critique
"WDC? What's the point?"   [E] by Writer_Mike

I won't quibble with the essay. I came to WDC on a recommendation as well. I found a lot of readers, a few reviewers, many enthusiatic writers, a few not-so-bright, a couple who were mean ... but those were the exception. It has been here for me to expand on my own writings (and cringe at some of those attempts). I remember writing a couple 55 word stories. Very difficult.

To critique... it's an essay, not my area of expertise. It seems well written and personal. Instead of mentioning the contests an actual link would be more helpful. I rate it a 4.4.

Prompt: Write about benefits, charities, etc.

Very odd prompt imho. I don't do benefits or charities. This is a very Mid-America thing I suppose. I equate "go fund me... my daughter needs a 100k operation and we can't afford it" with those who think "socialism = bad, bad, bad." My first response is "Move to Sweden", my second, "Move to Canada." Problem solved. Be as generous as you can... but begging annoys me. I realize that many WDCers love auctions, raffles, etc. I don't.
