Just another Thursday.
Light air from the SE at 3 mph. 36 degrees at 10:20 p.m.

Why bother with the weather?

It's a sense. It grounds. It describes in concrete terms: flag moving gently, barely a draft by the open window. Cool fresh air replacing the stuffiness of deep-winter. Transitional fragrance in the air. Clear skies aloft.

I tried to make dolgana ... mostly failed but what did whip up was very nice. I'll need to buy a whisk.

Another fail: boiled apple juice and added powdered potato. The apple flavor overwhelmed it. Ate it anyway.

On to reading for an hour or two.

30 degrees at 1:40 a.m. It's past my bedtime.

Finished my book Kung Fu Avengers. I really needed to do that because I was being blocked. I have much to do later when I wake up. *Sleeping*

30 degrees at 2 minutes to 9 a.m. Groggy.

And the stomach churns. I should be fine once I have a coffee and eat something. I have this urge to lay myself back down. I'm too groggy to argue 'lay' versus 'lie'.

Sunshine. At this ungodly early hour, now 9:02, and still 30 degrees, the sun comes in at a slant and reaches the jade plants sitting on narrow shelves with old coffee jars filled with pasta and rice. Soon it will reach the dangling sweet potato. If I raise my right arm it has also reached me. I'm still in last night's sleeping clothes. A yellow shirt, red knit shorts. I'm colorful! But ...coffee...

QOTD "What do you like about where you live?"

Walkability. There is nothing to walk to now.
The cafes. Now closed due to covid.
The library. Still closed because of covid.
The university. Too dangerous to visit as the students are carefree and covid-carriers.
The bookstores. Open but ghostly.
Readings by writers. Nary a one due to covid.
The markets. Reduced in size due to covid.
The festivals. Cancelled.
The Montana Grizzly football games... entire season cancelled.
The views of the mountains ... now feeling like a prison.
The bus and plane connections. Limited due to ...

40 degrees (+4c) at 11:30. Gonna be toasty today.

I really need to buy something like a whisk to make dolgana (frappe). The blender doesn't do it right. But... what I did manage to whip up yestereve was wonderful! There are lots of ways I like coffee. Found another. *HeartT*

51 degrees at 3:23. Nap time?

I went to Senior Center and found a mechanical whisk. It worked okay and I whipped my coffee with cinnamon and allspice. Need to do better next time.

Bought a coffee grinder as well as my old one died last year.

Gadgets...

If I lost electricity I could just use mortar and pestle and boil the beans.

Maybe two hot dogs were two too many? I want to take a nap. Need to write and need to start new book.
