A color

Can’t remember the color of your eyes
Were they blue?

Can’t remember the color of your voice
Was it dark brown?

The silence between us hellish white
My anger deep red

Then dark faded in
Black as the night
Blue my mood

All this, a lie:
I never loved you

Still, the colors of those early days
Were golden like the summer

Pretty as the greenest of springs
