Just Two in September

It has been only a few hours since I found out what the prompt for my second Short Story is for this month. At first, I didn’t think that it was going to come out this early. But before I went to sleep last night, I went on WDC. And I had a review by him for my Short Story from a couple of months ago. So, I decided to check out the contest. That’s when I found the new prompt. It didn’t take me long to remember this story.

I had it in my head before I went to sleep last night. All I had to do it start writing it. True, I haven’t started doing that. But I have set up what this story is about. And I’m about to start working on the sections for it after I finish this blog entry. That’s all I’m going to do right now. After all, I’m going to write up the WDC Short Story first for a couple of reasons.

One reason is that the WDC Short Story is the most important of the two. Even though I know I’m never going to win it, I still want to enter the contest. Of course, I want to do it with my second one. And I will write it too. But if for some reason I didn’t get it written by the end of the month, it’s not a disaster. I will still write it. Just won’t be able to enter it officially for the contest.

That doesn’t mean I won’t finish it. I know that I will never win this contest either. But that’s not why I write them. It’s because I can’t help myself. I’m a writer. I have the stories within me. And they need to come out. Especially, when it comes to my Science Fiction stories.

Speaking of Science Fiction, I’m giving up. I’m still going to be writing the truth. And they aren’t about Earth, Earth Colonies, Earthlings, etc. But I will start writing like everyone else. I prefer to use terminology native to the story. Only I can’t do that. I’ve already been banned by one WDC member for doing it. And I don’t want that to happen again. I can live with that compromise. At least I can when it comes to my short stories.
